Storehouse Tea Company is dedicated to support tea gardens that help conserve our fragile ecosystem by sustainable organic farming practices. Organic farming prevents toxic chemicals from entering our atmosphere, our soil and water system, the very things that sustain life on earth. By definition an organic tea must not contain any artificial ingredients and are grown by natural means without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. Organic farming encourages healthy soils, clean water, and a vibrant and diverse environment.
Not only do organic tea gardens protect the environment but they also guard the health and happiness of their families and valued employees. Often tea farmers have decided to switch to organic farming primarily for the health of their families because of the absence of toxic pesticides. Organic farming has proven to save many smaller family farms because the demand has grown so fast they can sell their crops for fair prices.
Organic farming benefits the farmer and the consumer of their crops. Many independent studies have shown that organic foods can contain more antioxidants and nutrients because of the rich, biologically active soil. Organic foods are also subjected to a higher standard by the additional safety and quality testing that they must pass to be considered certified organic. It is not surprising that these pesticide and artificial ingredient free teas have scored higher in taste tests versus non organic teas.
Storehouse Tea Company is committed to providing only organic and whenever possible, “fair trade” teas, so that you can rest assured you are drinking only the most wonderfully fresh, pure and delicious teas that you can buy anywhere. |
